The MyriadTests.com web site logs IP addresses, browser types and other information for system administration purposes. We use this information to measure the number of visitors to each section of our site and to help make our site more useful. A user's session may be tracked in some cases, but we do not link sessions or IP addresses to any personally identifiable information.

This information is used to respond directly to questions or comments. We only provide third-party agents with the minimum amount of information needed to complete the requested service or transaction. Information submitted through the Cancer History Guide:

No identifying personal information (i.e. name, address, phone number, email address) is required to use the Cancer History Guide. Information collected includes estimated age, gender, type of cancer, when cancer was diagnosed, deceased dates, and so on. This information is in no way tied to any personal information, computer names or IP addresses. After a cancer family history has been entered, the user may print out the data and/or download an encrypted data file for future use. Once the user has finished using the application, all data will be purged. No records of the cancer history information entered by the user is stored on Myriad systems.

Here's what you should know about the security of the information you provide to us:

We do not forward your mail outside of Myriad nor do we collect your name and email address for any purpose other than to respond to your query. Nevertheless; you should be aware that email is not necessarily secure against interception. If your communication contains sensitive or personal information, you may want to send it by postal mail.

Data entered into the Cancer History Guide is encrypted using a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and may be printed or downloaded to the user's machine, but will not be stored on Myriad systems. Users should take the necessary steps to secure materials they have printed or downloaded.

About links to other web sites:

This web site links to documents located on web sites maintained by other organizations. Once you access an individual document that links you to another web site, you are subject to the privacy policy of the web site containing that document. Since we do not control these web sites, we encourage you to review the privacy policies posted on these (and all) third-party sites.

About "Cookies":

While visiting sites with the MyriadTests.com domain, you may occasionally encounter a web page that employs "cookies". A cookie is a small file that a web site transfers to your computer's hard disk allowing our server to "remember" specific information about your session while you are connected. Requests to send cookies from MyriadTests.com web pages are not designed to collect information about you, but only about your browser "session." For example, the web site uses a temporary session cookie for the Genetic Quiz which is ended as soon as the browser is closed. The Genetic Quiz session cookie stores variables 1-10 for the quiz, it does not identify a person or a computer, not does it track any personal information.

If you are concerned about the potential use of information gathered from your computer by cookies, you can set your browser to prompt you before it accepts a cookie.
